White-tailed Tropicbirds

Bermudians call them “Longtails”

White-tailed Tropicbirds (Phaethon lepturus) are also referred to as Longtails in Bermuda, where the government officially protects them.  I first encountered the bird while sailing alone from North Carolina to Bermuda in June 2011. All photographs shown below were taken on Powell Cay in the Abacos of the Bahamas by me, Greg Frucci, during my second visit to the island in April 2024. I utilize a Canon R5 camera body paired with a selection of Canon lenses to create stunning visual narratives. Each photograph showcased on this page is an original work, copyrighted by Greg Frucci, ensuring the integrity and authenticity of his artistry.
